It has been estimated that these diseases have wiped $9 billion off India’s national income in 2005, but the losses could total a staggering $200 billion over the next 10 years if corrective action is not taken quickly . Studies suggest that because of the nature of working conditions and long hours of work, the risk of physical, social, mental health probems is higher among the employees of IT / ITes industries. Some of the other Work Place Health issues include:

4. Ear and Voice Related Problems

The work related health issues sets in a cycle of ill health, absenteeism and goes into a spin of meeting higher targets to compensate for the loss of time caused by stress related illness. It is quite a challenge for IT and ITES industries. In particular. It has, therefore, become a matter of paramount importance to address the “Workplace Wellness”.
